This Nui Chua Con Dao hike tour is a 9-hour trekking experience through Con Dao National Park. Pickup in Con Dao Town & Transfer to the National Park
Your hiking day begins at 8:00 AM with pickup from your hotel in Con Dao Town. From there, the journey heads toward Co Ong, where the forested landscape of Con Dao National Park gradually replaces the island's coastal roads and residential areas.
This transition marks the beginning of a more remote and nature-focused side of Con Dao.
Begin the Nui Chua Forest Trek
At around 8:30 AM, the trekking route begins beneath the tropical forest canopy. The trail climbs gradually through different ecological zones, where vegetation changes noticeably with elevation.
Along the way, travelers may spot long-tailed monkeys moving through the trees, black squirrels crossing the trail, colorful reptiles, and other wildlife native to Con Dao National Park.
Compared with shorter hiking programs on the island, this route offers a more physically active and immersive forest trekking experience.
Reach the Nui Chua Summit (King Mountain)
By approximately 10:15 AM, the trail reaches Nui Chua summit (and sometimes referred to in English as King Mountain).
Standing more than 500 meters above sea level, the summit offers cooler temperatures, drifting mountain mist, and expansive views across the island's protected forests. The contrast between the dense jungle below and the open summit atmosphere creates one of the most rewarding moments of the trek.
For many travelers, the peaceful summit scenery becomes the highlight of the entire hiking experience.
Lunch in the Forest
At around 11:45 AM, lunch is served at a forest rest area inside the national park.
Surrounded by trees and natural jungle sounds, this midday break allows travelers to relax and recover before continuing the afternoon section of the route.
Environmental Education Center
In the afternoon, the trek continues with an approximately 3 km walk toward the Environmental Education Center.
This final section introduces the ecological and conservation side of Con Dao National Park. Travelers can explore the Interpretation Room and specimen display area to learn more about the island's biodiversity, endemic wildlife, and protected forest ecosystems.
Return to Con Dao Town
At approximately 5:00 PM, the vehicle transfers travelers back to Con Dao Town, completing a full-day Nui Chua trekking experience through one of Vietnam's most pristine island forests.
