    Trung Island (Hòn Trứng), meaning “Egg Island” in Vietnamese, is a small sanctuary within Con Dao National Park and one of the archipelago’s most important seabird habitats. Also known as Hon Da Bac (Silver Rock), the island holds a VietKings record for the highest seabird egg density in Vietnam at 4.88 eggs per square meter (certified in November 2024). During the breeding season, thousands of seabirds gather around the island, creating one of Con Dao’s most remarkable wildlife spectacles.

    During the breeding season from April to September, more than 10,000 seabirds may gather around Trung Island, making it one of Con Dao's most important seabird nesting areas. To protect the colony, visitors observe the birds from the speedboat rather than landing on the island.
