We had a fantastic Mekong Delta tour today with our guide An from Mekong Smile Company. Early in the morning we were picked up at our hotel and taken by boat to the floating market. An not only explained the culture but also organized Vietnamese coffee, snacks, and drinks for us directly from the local boats. We even had the chance to board a trader’s boat and see how people live there. Afterwards, we visited a cacao farm and a fruit farm where we could try plenty of delicious things. An was always ready to answer all our questions and shared so many interesting insights about the Mekong Delta, the people, and the culture. She also made sure that vegetarians were well taken care of, which we really appreciated. What made the experience even more special was that An took photos of us as a memory, and the stops never felt like “tourist traps” – nobody pushed us to buy anything. We felt welcome and comfortable the whole time and could really immerse ourselves in the local life. We can highly recommend this tour – thank you so much, An!
