This tour focuses on the authentic, rural life of the Mekong Delta around Cai Be. The highlights include cruising the mighty Tien River, taking a traditional hand-rowed sampan through small canals, and visiting family-run handicraft workshops (coconut candy, pop rice, honey).
The boat and land activities in Cai Be usually take about 4 to 5 hours. If the tour includes round-trip transportation from Ho Chi Minh City, the total duration is typically 9 to 11 hours.
While Cai Be is historically known for its floating market, commercial activity there has greatly reduced. The tour focuses more on the small canals, local workshops, and cultural experiences which are the most active and rewarding parts of the Cai Be area now.
The local Vietnamese lunch is listed as an optional add-on in the itinerary. Please check the booking price details to confirm if you need to purchase the lunch option separately.
The dry season (December to May) offers the most comfortable weather for traveling and exploring the canals. The fruit harvest season (January to April) is particularly enjoyable for the fresh fruit tasting portion of the tour.
